Description

Kuwaisiana is a bilingual alt rock band based in Seattle with songs in Arabic and English. Inspired by +Aziz's Kuwaiti-American identity, they provide an articulation of Arab angst and the bliss of finding unity through music.

The band continually works to incorporate Khaleeji rhythms and references to create an approach that resonates with audiences from different backgrounds. Through their guitar-driven anthems, the band channels raw emotions, exploring the jux yesaposing themes of angst and bliss.

Their lyrics serve as poignant reflections of our tumultuous times, addressing issues ranging from gentrification and climate change to nepotism and the erosion of human rights. By infusing Arab angst with poetic lyricism, Kuwaisiana aims to bridge cultural tensions and foster a deeper understanding between Westerners and Middle Easterners and within the Arab community itself.

In a world fraught with uncertainty, Kuwaisiana offers a beacon of hope, celebrating the resilience of the human spirit amidst adversity. Their lyrics invite listeners to embark on a journey of self-discovery through an alternative Arab lens.

As +Aziz aptly summarizes, "Identity is fluid," and Kuwaisiana embodies this ethos, transcending boundaries and forging connections through the universal language of music. With their impassioned performances and thought-provoking lyrics, they continue to carve out a space for Arab-American and Khaleeji Arab voices in the global music scene, inspiring listeners to embrace their true selves and the power of collective expression.
